Description:

Mercer Rubber Company, established in 1866, manufactures rubber and TeflonĀ® Expansion Joints, Flexible Duct connectors and Industrial Hose. These products are specially engineered and manufactured to protect piping and ducting systems from damaging stresses generated by thermal movements and vibration. Mercer's engineers are required to pay strict attention to system conditions such as size, arrangement, temperature, pressure and amount of fluctuating movements, as well as the fluid's chemical and abrasive characteristics. Their series 500 expansion joints, for example, are routinely designed to perform under system temperatures up to 400 degrees F, pressures exceeding 350 psi, and extreme all directional movements. Mercer also commonly custom fabricates these connectors for special arrangements such as permanent offsets. Mercer's modern facility is equipped to manufacture these products in sizes ranging from 1/2 inch to 16 feet in diameter. Their average inventory is over $1.5 million of finished products, however, more than 70% of Mercer's work is customized to meet specific customer and system requirements. Mercer's registered civil and mechanical engineers are available to help with any special application problem that may arise world-wide.
